Lap Weaving
Back in the 80’s, I saw an ad in a craft magazine for a loom to make placemats. These placemats looked like a mat of flowers. I decided that I would do that. So when my mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I told her a set of the looms. Well she got them for me. Those looms sat in my closet for about 5 years before I made the first set. The first ones were for my mom and I’ve been making them for gifts since then.
Later on I saw the square set of looms and got them too. I’ve only made one set of the square placemats. Been thinking that I need to work on some the last few weeks. So maybe I’ll get around to doing that in the near future.

How I got started.
The first time I remember doing something along the lines of crafts was as a child. I grew up on a small farm and didn't have a lot of fancy toys to play with. I remember the first baby doll I had. It came with a couple of outfits, but I wanted more. So I decided to use the material scraps that were around from my mom sewing. I would get a piece big enought to go around the doll and then some. I would cut holes in the material for the arms and wrap it around the doll and would use a strip to tie it. After that there was no stopping me. Learn to sew and crochet from my mom.

Getting started
Just getting started here on my blog. It will take a bit to get much posted. I hope to be able to feature others who are on Etsy. I have a shop on etsy where I sell handmade items. Most of my items are made with plastic canvas and yarn but I have other items as well. I hope you will drop by my shop and check it out.
